Amanda

This is our way of staying connected with you.

Hear about all the fun stuff happening at

Pieceful Quilters

Amanda (my daughter by choice) will be doing the "Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure" Boston event. At Pieceful Quilters, we will be doing several fund raisers to help her with her pledge of $2,300.00 but her personal goal is $3,000.00 .

Our first fund raiser -

We have set up a block program for $5.00 you will receive a 12 1/2 " friendship block kit (all cut and ready to sew) complete the block, return it to the shop, and your name will go into a drawing to win 20 blocks (quilt size 48"x60")

Each and every block will be hung with pride at Pieceful Quilters.

On July 19th we will draw the winners (number of winners depends on the number of blocks)

No limit!  The more blocks you make, the more chances you have to win and the more money we raise to help fight breast cancer.  We all WIN!

Hey Friends,

Boobies, Ta-Ta's, Fun Bags, Hooters, Knockers, Melons, Flap Jacks, Jugs...call 'em whatever you want, but I need your help to save 'em.

I decided to do something that I have always wanted to do and that I really believe in. On July 23-25, 2010, I will be walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days in support of breast cancer awareness and research. It’s for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure Boston event and the net proceeds go to breast cancer research and local community-based breast health programs. This organization works hard year after year in order to bring breast cancer awareness to local communities and to decrease breast cancer incidence and mortality.

When I signed up yesterday, I made a pledge to raise $2300.00 for the walk. I am asking you to please consider donating to this cause and help me reach my personal goal of $3000.00. I know that times are tough right now, so any amount you choose to donate will be very much appreciated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can't make a donation now, the race isn't until July and on The3day.org website there is a way to make a payment plan for your donation. If there is no way you can donate any money, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I make my walk during those 3 days.

60 MILES?!?!…you might think that sounds crazy, but when you really think of the hardships cancer patients must endure, such as chemotherapy, what I am doing is easy in comparison. So the reason I am walking is for my Aunt Betty Seals, she is a breast cancer SURVIVOR!! She is my inspiration and my reminder to live life 100% everyday. Although, I will never know the personal struggles she has faced and continues to face during and after her fight, what I can do is walk in her honor and for all the women and men affected by breast cancer. Everyone deserves to live a lifetime and I want to do my part in fighting this battle to find a cure.

To make a donation, go to The3Day.org. Click on Donate to a Participant and search for my personal fundraising page. I am the 2nd Amanda Garcia under the Boston event. If you don’t want to donate online, please fill out the donation form found on my website and mail it to the address on the form. Or you can call 800-996-3DAY to donate over the phone. I would like to reach my fundraising goal by July 15, 2010, so please don’t delay!

Also, if you would like me to wear a Remembrance ribbon of a lost loved one or an In Honor of ribbon for a survivor or a loved one battling breast cancer during my 3 day walk, please email their name to me and I would be honored to do that for you. Also, email me if you have any questions or concerns.

*****You have my permission to send this to all the people in your address books…every little bit helps and all is appreciated!!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your support!!
